Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. (“Baptist Health,” “we,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information submitted by job applicants.  This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

 

For purposes of this policy, an “applicant” is an individual who has formally applied for a specific job requisition and is being considered for that role within the recruiting process.

 

Information We Collect

We collect personal information necessary for recruitment, hiring, compliance, and legal reporting. This may include:

  • Contact information (name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses)
  • Employment eligibility, certifications, education, and licensure
  • Information regarding disability status that applicants voluntarily choose to self-identify for equal employment opportunity and compliance purposes.

 

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

 

  • Evaluate your application and qualifications
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

 

This Job Applicant Privacy Policy Statement applies only to personal information collected in connection with employment opportunities.  It does not apply to information collected in connection with healthcare services we provide.  Information collected in connection with our healthcare services may constitute Protected Health Information (“PHI”) and is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we may use and disclose PHI and your rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and its implementing regulations. You agree that, should you elect to provide it, Baptist Health may use your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, or other data to communicate with you.  By providing a telephone number, you expressly consent and authorize Baptist Health, and its affiliates, agents, or contractors, to contact you using any dialing equipment (including automated systems, prerecorded voice, or interactive voice response).  Automated calls or texts may be made to any number you provide, including cellular numbers, and you expressly waive any claim under federal or state law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227).

 

By providing your email address, you expressly opt-in to receive email communications from Baptist Health and its affiliates, agents, or contractors for recruitment, benefits, or other services.  You expressly waive any claim under federal or state law, including the CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. § 7701 et seq.), and represent you have authority to provide consent for the email address used.

 

Opt-Out: You may opt out of communications at any time by following the opt-out instructions included in the communication, replying “STOP” to a text message, or by contacting Baptist Health Recruiting at [email protected]. Opting out of communications may limit Baptist Health’s ability to notify you regarding your application status

 

Sharing Your Information

Information is considered confidential and shared only when necessary, including:

 

  • Baptist HR personnel, hiring managers, and recruiters
  • Baptist Health staff, vendors, or service providers supporting recruitment, pre-hire compliance, or benefits administration
  • Legal authorities or other parties as required by law

 

Such disclosures, when made for these purposes, are not considered breaches of confidentiality, including the sharing of contact information, dates of birth, or other identifying information necessary to support recruitment, compliance, onboarding, or lawful concerted activities.

 

Applicants Under 18

Applicants under 18 may apply for certain positions at Baptist Health.  We collect only information necessary for recruitment and compliance and take appropriate care to protect minors’ personal information.

 

Protecting Your Information

Baptist Health uses reasonable safeguards to protect personal information.  If you believe your information has been improperly accessed or disclosed, contact your local Baptist Health Recruiter.
