The Hardin Community

Hardin County is a great place to live, work, grow and prosper. At a population of more than 107,000, Hardin is Kentucky’s sixth largest county. In recent years, we’ve enjoyed a diverse and thriving community.

In the past decade, the Elizabethtown Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which includes Hardin, LaRue and Meade counties, has been among the fastest growing MSAs in the country and continues to welcome thousands of new residents every year.

Not to be overlooked is an exceptional, affordable and safe quality of life bolstered by great schools, top quality health care, lots of business and job opportunities, plenty to do and friendly people. Fort Knox anchors the local economy, but outstanding jobs in manufacturing, education, health care and more also employ thousands of local residents.
