What is Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)?
Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is a level of treatment for substance abuse on the continuum of care between residential in-patient treatment and once-a-week outpatient treatment. Intensive Outpatient meets three to four times each week for 3 hours, and for a program duration of up to 6 months.
