Home Infusion Therapy
If your prescribed therapies can be safely managed at home, home infusion therapy may offer you an alternative to lengthy hospital stays.
Under the guidance and instruction of registered nurses and pharmacists skilled in high-tech services, you or the person you are caring for can receive and administer your own infusion therapies.
Baptist Health Home Infusion is housed in its Lexington office, but is available across the state. Baptist Health Home Infusion is licensed as an outpatient pharmacy to provide comprehensive infusion therapy services to all counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Our home infusion services include the medications, products, supplies, equipment and instruction needed. Examples of services include, but are not limited to:
- Anticoagulation medication
- Enteral nutrition
- Inotropic therapy
- Pain management
- Steroid therapy
- Total parenteral nutrition
This service is provided by specially trained registered nurses who administer IV therapy and teach your caregiver how to care for you at home. Nurses are on call and available 24 hours a day to provide service and consultation.
The agency is state licensed and certified by Medicare and Medicaid and accredited by the Joint Commission. It is also a member of the Intravenous Nurses Society.
Home infusion services require a physician referral. For more information, and to see if you're eligible to receive home infusion services at home, contact us online or by calling 859.260.6569 or toll-free at 1.800.489.3002.
Baptist Health Home Care can help determine if your private insurance covers home infusion services. Medicare covers the cost of all nursing visits and some pain, heart and chemotherapy medications. Medicaid covers the cost of all medications.
