February 06, 2018

Dr. Barbara Veazey and Daniel Jones have been named members of the Baptist Health Foundation Paducah board of directors.

Dr. Barbara Veazey and Daniel Jones have been named members of the Baptist Health Foundation Paducah board of directors.

Dr. Veazey retired in 2016 as president of West Kentucky Community & Technical College.  She currently serves as a consultant on leadership and higher education.

A Marshall County native, Dr. Veazey gained a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Murray State University, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Evansville and a doctorate in higher educational administration from Southern Illinois University.

"My first job, while in college, was as a nurse aide at Western Baptist,” Dr. Veazey said. “I have enjoyed a professional relationship between the college and Baptist Health and I have benefited from excellent care as a patient. Baptist Health and its Foundation have grown strong health care opportunities and services to our community, and I am honored to join and serve Baptist Health Foundation.”

Jones, PharmD, is co-owner of Strawberry Hills Pharmacy and Lakeview Pharmacy in Paducah, and Walter’s Pharmacy in Murray.

A Mayfield native, Jones is a graduate of Samford McWhorter School of Pharmacy. He serves as an adjunctive professor for the University of Kentucky, Sullivan University, St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Samford.

I have partnered with Baptist Health Foundation Paducah in many ways through the years and have been pleased with the ways their efforts have been able to impact our community,” Jones said. “To now serve on their Board is a great opportunity to expand our partnership to work together for the benefit of this community.”

Board members serve as public advocates for the foundation and its mission by providing strategic leadership for fund development to expand and enhance healthcare services at Baptist Health Paducah.
