Baptist Health Medical Group welcomes four new physicians
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. (July 31, 2026) – Baptist Health Medical Group has welcomed four physicians to its growing team of providers, expanding access to primary care, pulmonary and critical care, and hematology and oncology services in Elizabethtown. All four physicians are accepting new patients.
Jacob Barnes, MD
Jacob Barnes, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Internal Medicine to provide comprehensive primary care for adults, including preventive care, chronic disease management and treatment for acute illnesses.
Dr. Barnes earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Bowling Green and completed an internal medicine residency at The Medical Center in Bowling Green through the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.
His special interests include acute and chronic disease management, diabetes prevention, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

Rea Pavate, MD
Rea Pavate, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine to provide care for patients with diseases and conditions affecting the lungs and chest, including pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, complex chest infections, lung cancer and more.
Dr. Pavate received her medical degree from Manipal University Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. She completed an internal medicine residency at MedStar Health-Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and affiliated hospitals.
She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonary disease and is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Her special interests include ICU procedures, pulmonary and critical care procedures, pulmonary infections and complex pulmonary diseases.

Aaron Pruitt, MD
Aaron Pruitt, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Hematology & Oncology, where he provides specialized care for patients with cancer and blood-related conditions.
Dr. Pruitt earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
His special interests include gastrointestinal cancers; lung cancers, including small cell lung cancer in young adults, and early-onset colorectal cancer.

Dana Wolfer, DO
Dana Wolfer, DO, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Primary Care to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, including preventive services, treatment for acute illnesses and management of chronic conditions.
Dr. Wolfer earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
In addition to preventive care and chronic disease management, Dr. Wolfer provides dermatologic biopsies, joint injections and other primary care services. Her special interests include acute and chronic disease management, blood pressure management, dermatology and diabetes prevention.
