Marcie Backus, DNP, named vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health Richmond

Richmond, KY (September 3, 2026) – Marcie Backus, DNP, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health Richmond. Marcie is no stranger to the hospital or community since she has worked here for the past 25 years in various nursing roles. She started her career as an ICU nurse and then moved on to become a House Supervisor. Most recently, Marcie has been the executive director of Quality, Safety and Patient Experience.

The search for chief nursing officer began after Mendy Blair, DNP, announced her retirement after 42 years of service.
