Early Morning Fire Destroys Physician Office Building

The building which housed Baptist Health Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine, the offices of Drs. Hilgeford, Morgan & Haney at 201 Meridian Ave., St. Matthews, was destroyed in an early morning fire.

LOUISVILLE, KY (February 2, 2017) -- The building which housed Baptist Health Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine, the offices of Drs. Hilgeford, Morgan & Haney at 201 Meridian Ave., St. Matthews, was destroyed in an early morning fire. No one was injured.

The physicians and staff wish to express their deep gratitude to the firefighters and other first responders who contained and extinguished the blaze before it could spread to nearby buildings. They are also very thankful that that no one was injured.

Patients with scheduled appointments for today (Thursday) through this weekend are being contacted directly about rescheduling. Plans are being made for rescheduling appointments for next week and beyond. Arrangements are underway for temporary offices to open next week.

Patients with medical emergencies prior to their scheduled appointment are encouraged to seek treatment at the Emergency Department (as medically appropriate) or to call 911. Minor injuries and illnesses can be treated at the nearest Baptist Health Urgent Care or Express Care.
