Oldham County EMS
Baptist Health La Grange is proud to provide management and support services to Oldham County Emergency Medical Services (OCEMS) since 2012. OCEMS is a third-service advanced life support (ALS) agency that provides emergency 9-1-1 services and non-emergent medical transfers for the entire county and supports surrounding counties when the need arises.
The Oldham County Ambulance Taxing District owns 9 ambulances with anywhere from three to five crews operating at one time.
OCEMS is one of two Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) accredited EMS services in the state. This accreditation is voluntary and renews every three years. Only a small percentage of operations nationally are CAAS accredited.
100% of our EMS staff are certified in advanced stroke life support, including pediatric stroke certification. Our staff is comprised of both EMT’s, Advanced EMTs/Paramedics and we pride ourselves on the average length of service for our employees, 13 and 17 years, respectively.
OCEMS participates in Mission Lifeline through the American Heart Association to provide high level cardiac and stroke care and has received the Gold Award for the past several years. OCEMS is also certified in Pediatric Emergency Care and has received the Award of Excellence through the Kentucky EMS for Children program with the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.
OCEMS is proud to be a part of the Oldham counties first responder community and is assisted by numerous fire departments that often provide first responses on the scene to begin administering aid before an ambulance arrives.
The headquarters is located at 1101 New Moody Lane in La Grange, Kentucky with satellite stations located in Crestwood, Buckner, and Goshen. Though we operate on a 24/7 schedule, the administrative office in La Grange is open 8 am-4 pm Monday through Friday.
