What Is Thoracic Surgery? 

Thoracic surgery involves procedures for the treatment of diseases within the chest, or thorax, including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, thoracic outlet syndrome, and other diseases of the chest. The fellowship-trained and board-certified thoracic surgeons at Baptist Health Medical Group Thoracic Surgery combine advanced technology with sound expertise to provide comprehensive treatment for a variety of lung and esophageal conditions.

With more than 30 years’ combined experience, the surgeons specialize in minimally invasive surgical techniques such as video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and da Vinci robotic surgery for lung cancer, in addition to sophisticated diagnostic tools such as electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy.
