Baptist Health Medical Group welcomes two new physicians to its medical staff, expanding access to specialized services in the region.
Iram Nawaz, MD, FCCP
Iram Nawaz, MD, FCCP, has joined the Pulmonary & Critical Care team. Dr. Nawaz provides care for patients with diseases and conditions of the chest and lungs, including pneumonia, COPD, interstitial lung disease, complex chest infections, lung cancer and more.
Dr. Nawaz earned a medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed a general surgery residency followed by an internal medicine residency at Mayo Hospital Lahore. Dr. Nawaz then pursued an additional internal medicine residency at Long Island College Hospital in New York, followed by a pulmonary fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center at University Hospital of Brooklyn.
She has extensive experience treating patients with pulmonary and critical care conditions using diagnostic testing and advanced pulmonary procedures, including interpretation of pulmonary function tests, thoracentesis, fiberoptic bronchoscopy with biopsies and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided procedures, as well as central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion and airway management.
Dr. Nawaz is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary disease and internal medicine. She is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Heather Green, MD
Heather Green, MD, has joined the Wound Care team. Dr. Green offers services to restore the integrity of damaged tissue, including evaluation and treatment of wounds resulting from pressure, diabetic or venous ulcers, surgical incisions, complex soft-tissue injuries and trauma. She also specializes in hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that facilitates healing in conditions resistant to conventional therapies.
Dr. Green earned a medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University and completed residency training in family medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Her special interests include acute and chronic wound care, compression therapy, debridement, skin grafts, complex wound healing management and hyperbaric oxygen treatment of soft tissue radiation injuries.
Dr. Green is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has completed advanced training and certification in wound care and hyperbaric medicine through Healogics. She has additional experience in inpatient hospital medicine, outpatient family medicine and urgent care.
Dr. Green is a member of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing, Wound Healing Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association and Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians.
