Baptist Health Medical Group welcomes two new physicians
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. (Oct. 10, 2025) – Baptist Health Medical Group is pleased to welcome two new physicians, Kate Young, MD, and Jared Young, MD, who each bring a skilled and patient-centered approach to care.
Kate Young, MD
Dr. Kate Young has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Sleep Medicine, where she specializes in the diagnosis and management of brain and airway sleep disorders in adults and children, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome and more.
Among her special interests are cardiopulmonary complications of sleep disorders, chronic pain and PTSD, integrative medicine and sleep, neurostimulator devices, obesity management, narcolepsy and women’s sleep health.
Dr. Young earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados. She completed a residency in family medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a fellowship in sleep medicine at University Hospitals/Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has specialized training in neurostimulator devices and obesity management. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Young speaks Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.

Jared Young, MD
Dr. Jared Young has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, where he provides comprehensive, family-centered care for patients of all ages. From preventive health and wellness to the management of chronic and urgent conditions, he is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve lifelong health.
Among his special interests are diabetes prevention through healthy nutrition and an active lifestyle; wellness across the lifespan; and managing chronic medical conditions in children, such as diabetes, HIV and hepatitis C.
Dr. Young earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency. During his training, he received a resident teaching award from the medical-pediatrics department.
He has experience in acute care, children’s hospitals and urgent care, and has served on hospital committees and as a consultant on complex pediatric cases. Dr. Young enjoys caring for patients through all stages of life and values the long-term relationships that come from seeing patients grow from early childhood through adulthood.
