Palliative Care Patient Resources

Patient Resources

There are a lot of important decisions to make when you’re receiving care for a serious illness. At Baptist Health, we provide the resources and support you need to make them informed, and as easy as possible.

Advance Directives

One of the most important decisions you can make ahead of treatment for a serious illness is to create an advance directive. An advance directive is a legal document that allows you to make clear your wishes for end-of-life care, so your friends, family and health care team will know if you are ever unable to tell them in-person. Baptist Health’s chaplains and other staff are available to patients for assistance creating advance directives.

Insurance and Billing

Insurance and billing are often another major concern for patients receiving care for a serious illness. Baptist Health accepts Medicare/Medicaid and most insurance plans for palliative care services, and offers financial counseling to help you navigate the billing process.
