Imaging South is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an extended MRI schedule by appointment.

The imaging center offers an alternative location for patients needing diagnostic studies performed where they can easily access these services without having to come to the main hospital campus for service. The center houses some of the latest innovations in diagnostic equipment including:

Semi-Open, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Baptist Health Imaging provides a new 1.5 Tesla MRI unit capable of providing higher quality diagnostic images than usually found in an open architecture unit. However, this unit is equipped with a short bore or semi open magnet which allows for a greater variety of exams to be performed while at the same time addressing the comfort of the patient.

High Definition Ultrasound

With the use of high definition ultrasound, we are able to perform ultrasound exams with even clearer details than have been previously available.

Multi-Slice CT

With the new imaging capabilities of CT (Computer Axial Tomography), we are able to perform the most up-to-date exams in a very timely manner. The Advanced CT scanner will perform exams in one-fourth the time of average CT scanners. This reduces wait times and allows us to provide results to physicians in a more timely manner.

X-Ray

The latest capabilities in digital radiologic imaging will allow us to perform diagnostic procedures in a more timely and efficient manner, resulting in clearer images with greater magnification and detail.

Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)

PACS is the latest technology in digital radiologic image storage. This PAC system allows your physician the ability to review your radiographic studies within minutes after completion of the exam. With the installation of the PACS, Baptist Health Imaging South became the first facility in the area to offer filmless imaging capabilities.

Bone Densitometry

Baptist Health Corbin purchased a GE Lunar bone densitometer, which measures the density of the spine, hip and other bones which are the most frequent sites of fracture, helping us identify risk at a much earlier stage. All information regarding the study will now be available for the patient's physician through the PACS system.

For your convenience the Baptist Health Imaging South is located at 60 Bryan Blvd. Corbin, Ky 40701 and will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an extended MRI schedule by appointment.
