Cancer Rehabilitation

A cancer diagnosis can be traumatic. And some side effects of lifesaving treatments can make you feel tired, anxious, weak and just not like yourself. The good news? The Cancer Care Center at Baptist Health Floyd can help you heal physically, mentally and emotionally so you can get back to enjoying life.

We serve all cancer survivors in need, whether you’re just starting treatment, finished with treatment or experiencing late effects or unresolved issues from long ago. Newly diagnosed patients can increase their strength and endurance and learn ways to prevent or reduce future medical problems. Survivors living with cancer as a chronic disease can find help managing treatment-related conditions. And those who are cured or in remission can adopt habits that boost their immune systems, rebuild their strength and confidence, and get back to doing the things they love.

Our Cancer Rehabilitation Program addresses the full spectrum of post-cancer care. We’ll evaluate not only your current symptoms and health conditions, but also important factors like your diet, sleep habits, exercise routine, physical strength and endurance, and emotional outlook. Each of these factors can play an important part in your healing.

Your Rehabilitation Plan

After you meet with one of our physicians for a thorough evaluation, we’ll assemble a team of medical, therapeutic and lifestyle specialists who will work with you to address your individual needs and goals. With your team, you’ll create a personalized rehabilitation plan, which will include achievable goals like increasing strength and energy, alleviating pain, improving physical functioning, finding emotional balance and boosting your immune system. Each team member will support you with expert guidance, training and encouragement along the way.

With You Every Step of the Way

Our Cancer Rehabilitation team works together – and with you – to ensure every aspect of your care and rehabilitation is customized to meet your needs and help you achieve your wellness goals. Each member of our team has extensive knowledge about the issues that people who are living with, or have recovered from, cancer frequently face as well as access to important resources and a dedication to meeting each survivor’s physical, emotional, mental and social needs.
