PADUCAH, KY (March 24, 2026) — The Baptist Health Paducah CT team has earned the HeartFlow CT Quality Award for Excellence in coronary CT for seven consecutive quarters, placing the hospital in the top 20% of global medical centers providing patients with a pathway to understand and identify their heart health by utilizing coronary CT and the HeartFlow Analysis.

The HeartFlow Analysis is a non-invasive technology to aid cardiologists in the diagnoses of coronary artery disease (CAD), the most common form of heart disease.

HeartFlow is an FDA-approved, AI-powered platform that evaluates coronary CT images using Fractional Flow Reserve derived from CT (FFR-CT) technology, measuring blood flow to determine whether blockages are restricting oxygen to the heart. When combined with coronary CT angiography (CCTA), it helps cardiologists identify and manage coronary artery disease in their patients.

“Adopting the Coronary CTA and FFR pathway represents a major step forward in how we care for our cardiac patients at Baptist Health Paducah,” said Sandra Zaranti, Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services. “By integrating advanced imaging with evidence-based workflows, we are able to diagnose more confidently, treat more efficiently, and improve outcomes for our patients who trust us with their hearts.”

The HeartFlow Analysis takes data from a patient’s non-invasive coronary CTA and leverages algorithms trained using a form of AI and highly trained analysts to create a personalized, digital 3D model of the patient’s coronary arteries. It then uses powerful computer algorithms to simulate blood flow and assess the impact of blockages on blood flow to the heart. Within hours, the Heartflow Analysis is provided to the patient’s physician via a secure web interface, and provides information on the extent of a patient’s arterial blockage and the impact the blockage has on blood flow to the heart.

“Being part of this quality program reflects our commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement, and I’m proud of the collaborative effort that made this advancement possible for our community,” said Zaranti.
