NEW ALBANY, IN (May 9, 2025) Kelly McMinoway, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Nursing at Baptist Health Floyd, was recognized recently by IU Southeast with an Alumni Award of Excellence.

A lifelong resident of Floyd County, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from IU Southeast in 1998 and later obtained a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. As Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Nursing at Baptist Health Floyd, she oversees nursing operations, strategic planning, and quality improvement for the organization.

Passionate about mentorship and professional development, McMinoway has partnered with the IU Southeast Dean of Nursing to establish a mentorship program for senior nursing students and facilitate an on-site RN to BSN program for RNs currently employed at Baptist Health Floyd. She is also pursuing a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership at Liberty University.

She has worked at Baptist Health Floyd her entire career. As a 20-year-old college student in 1996, she began her career at the hospital as a unit secretary.

During her senior year at IUS, she participated in the extern program where a student shadows a nurse during the academic year. That program went away until McMinoway brought it back as chief nursing officer.
