SELLERSBURG, IN (Oct. 28, 2025) - Baptist Health, in partnership with Dallas-based Intuitive Health, today broke ground on Indiana’s newest combined ER & Urgent care facility. Strategically located along Highway 311 at I-65, this cutting-edge center will bring both emergency and urgent care services together under one roof, increasing access to the highest level of care to the area.

The nearly 26,000-square-foot Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Sellersburg facility will also feature a outpatient radiology suite on the first floor and primary care practice on its second floor. It is scheduled to open in late 2026.

The innovative care model eliminates the stress of self-diagnosing before seeking care. Upon arrival, patients are evaluated by an ER-trained team of doctors and nurses who determine the appropriate level of care—whether it’s urgent or emergency. With on-site labs and imaging services like X-ray, CT, and ultrasound, results are delivered quickly, ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care.

“It’s about getting the patients what they need, the right level of care, at the right location, at the right time and at the right cost and price. We have heard the talk about bringing down the healthcare costs and this is one example of what Baptist Health, Intuitive Health and Ivy Tech are trying to do to bring down the cost of healthcare,” said Baptist Health Floyd President Mike Schroyer.

Sellersburg Town Manager Charlie Smith said, “this is one of the biggest things to happen in Sellersburg. To have a health facility in our community that has access 24 hours a day. We don’t have anything like this and now it’s just minutes away.”

This facility builds on the success of Baptist Health’s first combined ER & Urgent Care in Jeffersonville, IN, which opened in 2022. Since then, Baptist Health has launched two additional facilities in Kentucky, with two more currently under construction in Georgetown and Radcliff, Kentucky.

“We are honored to work closely with Baptist Health to breaking ground on our sixth combined ER and Urgent Care facility,” said Casey Fisher, chief operating officer of Intuitive Health. “The growth of this model in both Indiana and Kentucky highlights the strength of our collaboration and our shared commitment to providing patients with the appropriate care without unnecessary costs, aligning perfectly with our dedication to transparent, patient-centric healthcare.”
