Baptist Health Floyd continues to grow and prioritize the patients it serves

Baptist Health Floyd. March 29, 2024

(New Albany, IN) March 29, 2024 - Baptist Health Floyd continues to grow in order to provide the best care for our patients.

In 2023 the hospital opened a Level II NICU, dedicated pediatric wing, as well as a Heart Failure clinic. Baptist Health Floyd also opened a new out-patient surgical waiting area with new surgical patient bays.

Due to growth and need for greater capacity for pulmonary and sleep patients to be seen, a new combined Pulmonary/Sleep Center was created.

The hospital is currently in the middle of a $65 million construction project to add and expand our surgical suites.

In 2023 the hospital delivered 968 babies, had 11,793 inpatient admissions and 249,210 outpatient visits. Also, there were 48,501 emergency room visits and 12,000 surgical procedures.

Despite all the growth, protecting and championing the safety of our patients is our top priority at Baptist Health Floyd. Ongoing efforts are made to identify and better serve the needs of our patients and their families. Our team of clinical, non-clinical staff and leadership is committed to improving reliability through better process design, building a culture of reliability, and leveraging human factors by designing processes that help people do the right thing.  This report below outlines the efforts made to identify, work, and improve the quality and experience for our patients and staff at Baptist Health Floyd.
