Elizabethtown, Ky., (Oct. 2, 2023) – Today, Baptist Health Foundation Hardin leadership announced two corporate gifts that will fund services in the Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion, which is currently under construction behind the hospital. Brandenburg Communications and West Point Bank have joined together, with each donating $125,000 to the foundation to support the pavilion’s new cafe.

“We are immensely grateful to Brandenburg Communications and West Point Bank for their generous contributions to Baptist Health Foundation Hardin,” said Baptist Health Foundation Hardin Board Chairman Mike Bowers. “These donations will not only support the new cafe in the Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion but also underscore our shared commitment to helping Baptist Health Hardin provide top-notch medical services and facilities.”

The new 282,000-square-foot Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion, which will be the size equivalent of 75% of the existing hospital, is set to open in 2024. The largest project in the hospital’s history, the facility will house a new comprehensive cancer center with all patient services together for the first time; 12 new surgical suites, including a hybrid operating room; three additional cardiac catheterization labs; medical offices to accommodate new physicians and specialists; and patient-centric spaces designed to promote emotional and spiritual wellness.

“Our bank believes in and invests heavily in things that improve regional quality of life,” said Josh Hubbard, president of West Point Bank. “It’s such an exciting time to live in this thriving region, and this new medical pavilion will help us recruit talent and companies. The cafe will offer patients and staff a chance for nourishment and a change of scenery. We are proud to support a hospital that takes such good care of its own – and my family is at the top of that list."

In addition to the new cafe, other amenities for patients and staff at the pavilion will include a community wellness trail, resource area, chapel, outdoor healing garden, staff respite rooms, training and conference spaces, and common areas filled with natural light and beauty.

“The cafe we are supporting will be a place where families of patients experiencing long infusions or surgeries can relax and enjoy a meal while remaining close to their loved ones,” said Allison Willoughby, general manager for Brandenburg Communications. “Equally important, it offers the dedicated team at Baptist Health Hardin a convenient and essential source of sustenance during their often-hectic days. Brandenburg Communications is proud to contribute to an initiative that prioritizes the well-being of our local community, providing comfort and support in times when it's needed most.”
