Dr. Tathyana Fensterer joins Baptist Health Medical Group Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky., January 18, 2022 – Baptist Health Hardin officials recently announced that Dr. Tathyana Fensterer, MD, PHD, joined Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG) Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team. Dr. Fensterer, who has over two decades of surgical experience, is now accepting new patients at Baptist Health Medical Group Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, located at 511 Robinbrooke Blvd., Ste. 100, in Elizabethtown.

Dr. Fensterer, who joins Hardin from the Louisville market, specializes in cosmetic, reconstructive, 3D-planned and minimally invasive surgical procedures, as well as skin rejuvenation and resurfacing. She holds a certification from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She also was the recipient of the University of Louisville School of Medicine Frank B. Miller, MD, Excellence in Teaching award in 2016.

“I am excited to be practicing in Elizabethtown and central Kentucky and forming long-lasting relationships with my patients,” said Dr. Fensterer. “Whether it be a reconstructive or cosmetic patient, I am able to get to know my patients over time and provide important services to help them feel whole.”

Dr. Fensterer received her medical degree from Santa Casa de Sao Paulo Medical School in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She then completed a general surgery residency at Santa Casa de Sao Paulo Hospital, followed by a plastic surgery residency at Heliopolis Hospital.

After earning her doctorate in physiology and biophysics, Dr. Fensterer dedicated an additional 12 years to training, completing a residency in general surgery at the University of Louisville and a plastic surgery residency at the University of Iowa.
