Baptist Health Paducah's new Heart Failure Clinic working to meet region's needs

The Heart Failure Clinic is located on Baptist Health Paducah's main campus.

(Paducah, Kentucky) August 15, 2022 -- Striving to meet the growing demands of heart patients in the region, Baptist Health Paducah is taking heart care to the next level by opening a new heart failure clinic for patients struggling to manage their heart failure symptoms. The clinic is now open to the public.

The Heart Failure Clinic consists of a multi-disciplinary team that offers the following services:

  • Personalized, expert medical attention
  • Remote monitoring to better support the patient in the home environment
  • Medical and treatment management
  • Lifestyle education, including diet, exercise and activity improvement
  • Advance care planning
  • Assistance in finding affordable medications

Cardiologist, David Saxon, MD, will be overseeing the clinic. In addition to Dr. Saxon, the clinic’s staff includes a nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist, dietitian, nurse and certified medical assistant. This comprehensive team will work together when deciding on the best treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Saxon is a Madisonville native who has returned to western Kentucky to join the Baptist Health Medical Group Cardiology at Baptist Health Paducah. In addition to heart failure, Dr. Saxon also specializes in pulmonary hypertension, echocardiography, cardiac CTA and cardiac nuclear imaging. Dr. Saxon provides comprehensive treatment and preventive care for patients with cardiovascular disorders, arrhythmia conditions and coronary and peripheral artery diseases.
