Baptist Health Medical Group welcomes four general surgery physicians

The Surgical Group of Paducah has joined Baptist Health Medical Group.

(PADUCAH, KENTUCKY), June 1, 2022 - The Surgical Group of Paducah has joined Baptist Health Medical Group. The clinic, now called Baptist Health Medical Group General Surgery, consists of physicians April Jackson, MD; Kevin Stigall, MD; Dana Tyrrell, MD; and Kristen Williams, MD, have joined Baptist Health Medical Group as its newest general surgeons.

These experienced physicians have joined the Baptist Health team to provide skilled, patient-centered care, specializing in surgical procedures, including gastrointestinal endoscopy, advanced laparoscopy, and robot-assisted surgeries.

Dr. Jackson is board certified in general surgery. She earned her medical degree and received professional training as a general surgery resident at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Jackson specializes in a wide range of conditions and diseases and, treats gastroesophageal reflux, gallbladder and liver diseases and benign and malignant tumors involving the breast, thyroid, esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, colon and more.

Dr. Stigall is a board certified surgeon who attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.  He continued his medical training through his residency in general surgery at Keesler Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

General surgery, laparoscopic surgery, colorectal surgery and thyroid surgery are Dr. Stigall’s specialty areas. He treats conditions and diseases involving the esophagus, thyroid, gallbladder, colon, urinary tract, rectum, reproductive system and more.

Dr. Tyrrell is board certified in surgery, robot-assisted surgery and single-site robotic cholecystectomy. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and continued there to complete his general surgery residency. Dr. Tyrrell furthered his professional training through an advanced laparoscopic surgery fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

With specialties in general surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures, Dr. Tyrrell provides patient care for a wide range of conditions and treatments. These include gastroesophageal reflux, benign and malignant disease of the breast and colon, abdominal wall and inguinal hernia, paraesophageal hernia, skin and soft tissue infection and more. 

Dr. Williams is board certified in surgery and robot-assisted surgery. She received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and continued her training at Good Samaritan Hospital/TriHealth System in Cincinnati. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, The American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. 

Providing specialized care in surgical procedures, including gastrointestinal endoscopy, advanced laparoscopy and robot-assisted surgery, Dr. Williams treats many conditions and diseases. These involve benign and malignant tumors of the breast, skin, stomach gallbladder, spleen, liver and colon. Also included in her area of expertise are abdominal wall, incisional, umbilical and groin hernias.
