The $5 million renovation project is expected to be completed by early March.

Drs Kyle and Nicole Turnbo(Paducah, Ky.) March 1, 2021 — When Dr. Kyle and Nicole Turnbo see their name on one of the newly renovated rooms they dedicated in the John and Vivian Williams Mother-Baby Unit at Baptist Health Paducah, the couple expects it will be an emotional experience.

“We have dedicated our entire lives as healthcare providers and we don’t take that job title lightly,” said Nicole Turnbo. “To be in the healthcare field is not just a job, but a calling from God. God gave us both a unique, special calling. And we are honored to be a part of this project with Baptist Health Paducah.”

Dr. Turnbo has been a family physician in Paducah for 21 years, while Nicole Turnbo has been a pediatric nurse for 24 years. For three years, she worked at Baptist Health Paducah, working in Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby and NICU. She will graduate in August as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Turnbo “has had the privilege to care for thousands of newborn infants, as well as provide pediatric care for those needing hospitalization,” she said. “Being in the nursing field for numerous years, the amazing teamwork and compassionate nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists at Baptist Health Paducah amazed me. I have never worked with a more dedicated, talented team. I felt so blessed to get to witness the miracle of birth as my chosen profession. Giving birth is truly a sacred event and I feel so blessed that God chose me to be a pediatric nurse.”

The hospital’s $5 million renovation project is expected to be completed by early March. Renovations include updated post-partum suites, pediatric rooms, nursing stations, a physician lounge and a patient waiting area.

“One of the reasons that sparked our interest to donate was the need,” Nicole Turnbo said. “The new gorgeous space will provide such a beautiful memory for new families. Kyle and I felt led to give to our community. Plus, it just happened to be that we are in the newborn/pediatric business. We could not have thought of a more appropriate or special donation than to give to the Mother-Baby unit.  Kyle and I both can’t wait to take care of patients at this beautiful, state-of-the-art facility. God has continued to bless the Turnbo family, and it was with great honor we give back.”

Although the final phase of renovations are underway, community members can still support this meaningful project.
