Baptist Health Paducah names Craig Beavers as new Vice President

Mr. Beavers will oversee surgery, pharmacy and cardiology services.

(Paducah, Ky.) June 4, 2021 Baptist Health Paducah has named Craig Beavers, Pharm.D., as Vice President, overseeing surgery, pharmacy and cardiology services. Beavers has acted as cardiology services director since 2019.

Beavers graduated in 2009 from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and completed a Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Practice residency and a Postgraduate Year Two Cardiology Pharmacy residency at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington.

Beavers previously served as the cardiovascular clinical pharmacy coordinator at UK Healthcare and with the UK Gill Heart Institute, as well as the director of Cardiovascular Services for the Hospital Corporation of America, and as a cardiovascular clinical pharmacy specialist with TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He also was adjunct faculty for Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, and served as the Postgraduate Year Two Cardiology Pharmacy Residency Program Director at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. Beavers currently is an assistant adjunct professor with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.

Beavers currently serves as the chairman of the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Cardiovascular Team Council and was the previous co-chair of the ACC’s Clinical Pharmacist Workgroup. He is the first pharmacist to be a Cardiovascular Professional for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and serves on the SCAI Quality Committee. He has served as the vice chair and chair of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s (ACCP) Cardiology Practice and Research Network Student and Resident Committee, as well as served as ACCP’s Cardiology Practice and Research Secretary/Treasurer and Chair.

In addition, he is an active member of the American Heart Association. He has published numerous papers, abstracts and textbook chapters, and presented internationally on topics focused on cardiovascular pharmacotherapy and cardiovascular quality improvement. He is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy, with added qualifications in Cardiology, and is a Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Beavers is a Board Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider. He is a fellow of the American Heart Association and an Associate of the American College of Cardiology.
