Baptist Health named one of America's Best Large Employers by Forbes
One of only 26 healthcare employers in the nation to make the list.
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - Feb. 17, 2021 -- Baptist Health is one of only 26 employers in the nation in the Healthcare & Social industry to be named to Forbes’ annual list of America’s Best Large employers.
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to survey 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees.
Workers ranked their willingness to recommend their employer to family and friends. Statista then asked respondents to nominate organizations other than their own, as well as identify organizations they would not recommend to others. Questions included the organizations’ handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Rankings were based on those responses. The Best Large Employer category is for firms with more than 5,000 persons on the payroll; 500 companies were named.
This is Baptist Health’s first appearance on the list. Baptist Health is Kentucky’s largest healthcare system, with more than 22,500 employees in its nine hospitals (eight in Kentucky), and more than 400 points of care (in 83 Kentucky counties, seven counties in Illinois, six counties in Southern Indiana and two counties in Tennessee) including: outpatient facilities, physician practices and services, urgent care clinics, outpatient diagnostic and surgery centers, home care, occupational medicine and physical therapy clinics; and fitness centers.
Baptist Health’s nine hospitals include more than 2,700 licensed beds in the Kentucky communities of Corbin, Elizabethtown, La Grange, Lexington, Louisville, Madisonville, Paducah, Richmond and New Albany, Indiana. Baptist Health’s physician network, Baptist Health Medical Group, has about 1,500 employed providers, including about 800 employed physicians, plus more than 2,000 independent physicians.
