HMH Medical Group adds invasive cardiologist to team

Bullitt County native to provide clinical, invasive and device cardiology

ELIZABETHOWN, Ky. (May 22, 2020) – The HMH Medical Group announced today the addition of Bart Dawson, M.D., an invasive cardiologist, to the HMH Central Cardiology Associate team. A Bullitt County native, Dr. Dawson has more than 10 years of invasive cardiology experience gained while practicing in a large, diverse metropolitan group.

“Growing healthcare systems like HMH in growing regions like Central Kentucky should offer patients a strong, multi-disciplined cardiology service line,” said Tom Hustead, M.D., Medical Director of the HMH Medical Group. “Today HMH cardiologists see a large volume of cardiology both in the hospital and in clinic. To have an invasive cardiologist, especially one with Dr. Dawson’s experience, on the team is a huge win.”

Dr. Dawson will provide patients with general cardiology services with special focus on treating arrhythmias with devices like automatic internal cardioverter defibrillators (AICD) and pacemakers. He also provides regular device monitoring and equipment maintenance.

Dr. Dawson graduated from the University of Louisville (U of L) Medical School. He completed his Residency program at U of L and a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is Board Certified by the American College of Cardiology, and certified as a cardiac device specialist by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.

Dr. Dawson sees patients by appointment at HMH Medical Group Central Cardiology Associates’ Elizabethtown office at 1324 Woodland Drive and on Tuesdays in Lebanon (Marion County) at 325 West Walnut Street.
