Baptist Health La Grange - Oldham County EMS ambulance bays converted into alternative site emergency department space

The alternative site emergency department space was converted in mid-April with a purpose to serve as an additional care facility for Baptist Health La Grange if they were to experience a patient surge.

La Grange, KY (Thursday, June 11, 2020) – The alternative site emergency department space was converted in mid-April with a purpose to serve as an additional care facility for Baptist Health La Grange if they were to experience a patient surge.  Though the hospital has not had to use the extra space to-date, it is patient-ready and can be disassembled and reassembled as necessary.  If put into use, it would allow emergency department staff to care for non-COVID-19 outpatient cases if areas within the hospital were to surge with emergency department patient care.

Oldham County EMS is conveniently located adjacent to Baptist Health La Grange.  Baptist Health manages Oldham County EMS, a service owned by the Oldham County Ambulance Taxing District and Oldham Fiscal Court.  The project is an example of the numerous community partnerships made during the COVID-19 pandemic, developed with a common objective, to care for our communities and one another.
