Dr. Brian Price will provide clinical care in this highly trained field

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (June 09, 2020) – The HMH Medical Group announced today the addition of Brian Price, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, to the HMH Central Cardiology Associates team. Interventional cardiologists study for years to obtain additional training in treating cardiovascular diseases through procedures that predominantly use catheters, such as angioplasty and stenting.

Thomas Hustead, M.D., Medical Director of the HMH Medical Group called the hiring of Dr. Price a significant advancement for HMH’s cardiology service line.

“HMH continues to raise the bar, and can rival any of the metro hospitals with the addition of Dr. Price to the HMH Medical Group,” Hustead said. “The care provided by an interventional cardiologist like him means that HMH can now offer minimally invasive cardio procedures – in addition to angioplasty and stenting – such as percutaneous valve repair, embolic protection, and atherectomies. Patients no longer need to drive to Louisville for this critical care.”

Dr. Price will also provide patients with cardiology services with a special focus on catheter-based treatment of heart diseases, including the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease and acquired structural heart disease.

“I am so pleased to join HMH’s growing cardiology program,” said Dr. Price. “HMH has shown its dedication to offering patients the very best. Together we will do great things to add cutting edge cardiac services right here in our own community.”

Dr. Price received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from West Virginia University with majors in: Biology, Economics, History and Political Science. He then graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree. Continuing his professional development, Dr. Price graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine, followed by a Residency Program in Internal Medicine at The University of Louisville. He also completed Fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Marshall University. Dr. Price is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography.

His special interests include complex coronary interventions, general cardiology, interventional treatment of pulmonary embolism and DVT, peripheral arterial endovascular interventions, transesophageal echocardiography.
