HMH adds familiar physician to Hodgenville Family Medicine team

Growing practice helps meet demand for primary care, lab and diagnostic services

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky., September 19, 2019 – HMH Medical Group announced today the addition of Kerry Gusler, D.O., to the Hodgenville Family Medicine team. Dr. Gusler, a Hodgenville native, is now seeing patients at the 145 Lincoln Drive location, a new HMH facility opened earlier this year to expand care for residents of LaRue and nearby counties. 

Dr. Gusler completed a residency program at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky., after earning a medical degree with honors at the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to medical school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Louisville. 

“HMH patients appreciate quality care close to home, and so it’s no surprise that the demand for services at Hodgenville Family Medicine is growing,” said HMH Medical Group Assistant Vice President Sheila Smallwood. “We are proud to welcome another remarkable physician to the practice to meet the demand in the LaRue County community and beyond.” 

She also noted Dr. Gusler’s familiarity with the LaRue County community.

“As a LaRue County native, Dr. Gusler is a terrific fit for a healthcare system well known for treating patients like family,” she said. 

Dr. Gusler joins Wesley Moore, D.O., and advanced practice registered nurse Shauna Johnson at Hodgenville Family Medicine, where primary care as well as lab and diagnostic services, are offered in a single 7,400 square-foot state-of-the-art facility.  

“It’s a privilege to join the HMH Medical Group Hodgenville Family Medicine team and help care for friends and family in my hometown,” Dr. Gusler said. 

Dr. Gusler and his wife have four children and 10 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys working on the family farm.
