Baptist Health Richmond has been awarded a four-star rating for overall hospital rating and patient experience from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare program.

RICHMOND, Ky. (March 11, 2019) – Baptist Health Richmond has been awarded a four-star rating for overall hospital rating and patient experience from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare program.

The Hospital Compare website reports on quality measures for more than 4,000 hospitals from around the country. The most common overall rating is three stars.

Baptist Health Richmond’s rating reflects its commitment to several patient quality metrics, such as how responsive hospital staff were to patient needs, how well nurses and doctors communicated with patients and the cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment.

“I am so proud of the over 600 Baptist Health Richmond caregivers who contributed to our 4-star CMS rating,” said Greg Gerard, Baptist Health Richmond president. “Some believe receiving quality health care is a privilege. Baptist Health Richmond believes giving it is one. This rating demonstrates the commitment to excellence and compassion our hospital strives for every day.”

CMS publicly launched the hospital rating in 2016. The overall summary rating is based on a cumulative score from 57 measures across several different areas: mortality, readmission, safety of care, patient experience, efficient use of medical imaging and timeliness and effectiveness of care.
