Specialized Physical Therapy Services

The Baptist Health Therapy team offers a multidisciplinary approach to helping patients recover from stroke, head injury, amputation, multiple trauma, and other disabling conditions at the outpatient therapy clinic. Each patient will receive a comprehensive evaluation, followed by an individual treatment program based on their needs. We provide one-on-one care during each session, setting goals and achieving them together.

  • Physical therapists: help patients improve strength, coordination, and balance to improve mobility and quality of life.

  • Occupational therapists: help patients develop strength and fine motor coordination needed to perform activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and homemaking.

  • Speech language pathologists: help patients with communication and thinking skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, memory, attention and reasoning, and treat voice disorders and difficulty swallowing. Tests offered include:

    • Laryngeal videoendoscopy/stroboscopy for voice evaluation.
    • Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).
    • McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program for swallowing.

Our therapists have extensive experience and knowledge in the treatment of neurological conditions, providing a variety of advanced therapy services, including:

  • A comprehensive evaluation for every patient, followed by an individualized treatment plan.
  • One-on-one, therapist-to-patient ratio means patients receive the individualized care needed to reach treatment goals.
  • Therapists emphasize patient participation and follow-through, and focus on techniques that allow rehabilitation to proceed at a desired pace.
  • Ongoing communication with your physician regarding therapy progress.

A physician referral is required for outpatient therapy services. Check with your health insurance provider to determine coverage and out-of-pocket costs. Most major medical/government insurances are accepted.
