Exercise Education and Health Coaching

We provide patients with the opportunity to meet with an experienced Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach in a medical setting. Our Exercise Practitioner will help each patient identify appropriate exercise and lifestyle strategies to improve their health. Common conditions addressed include post bariatric surgery, weight management, osteoporosis/osteopenia, sarcopenia, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, menopause, pcos, depression, anxiety, and so much more.

What will I learn?

Education is individualized to each person’s unique needs and concerns. We will cover various aspects that may include:

  • Types and benefits of physical activity.
  • Discuss mindset / motivation/ consistency.
  • Identify Barriers to Exercise.
  • Develop Realistic and Sustainable Goals.
  • Personalized exercise program to fit your lifestyle and goals.
  • Modifications to work around injuries /aches/pains.
  • Programs you can do at home/ office/gym/ or while traveling.
  • Provides accountability, support, and continued progression.

How do I to get started?

Talk to your provider and ask them for a referral to Baptist Health Exercise Education. If you would like us to help you request the referral, please call 859.260.6058.

What will the visits be like?

Once the referral is received from the patient’s provider, they will be called and scheduled for a 60 min initial appointment. During the initial appointment we will discuss patients concerns, barriers, goals and next steps to improving their health. Each patient will set goals and receive a recommended exercise program to help them be successful.

Follow up appointments will be schedule before leaving and are intended to help you work through any issues, barriers, concerns or progress to next appropriate steps in your program. Ongoing follow ups are encouraged and can be used for accountability and continued progression.

Appointments can be done via telehealth or in person at our Lexington office.
