Deborah Berry, director:
At Oldham County EMS, we are the emergency medical service for Oldham County. We provide 24/7, 365 coverage to the county for 911 calls. We have advanced stroke life support that is required for all our advanced providers. We also attain special pediatric training, as well as our neonatal resuscitation for the smallest of our patients. We operate 24/7, 365. All our trucks are staffed with advanced life support, meaning they have a paramedic or advanced EMT on the ambulance.
We are accredited by the Commission of Ambulance Services. There are 23,000 EMS services in the U.S. Only 187 are CAS-accredited. We have off-site interviewers come in and perform a two-day audit of our service. Any service can put on paper what they do, but we actually have to prove what we do as far as going above and beyond any nationally recognized agencies to get this accreditation.
Our employees are very proud to wear this uniform. They're proud to be affiliated with Oldham County EMS and Baptist Health. I want everybody in this community to know that we live our mission daily. We strive with our training to be the best of the best, and we will always show up on their worst day. We will give them the best patient care possible because we have the best who serve this community.
