Wound care is very important in many regards.

Most of our patients have a lot of different chronic
medical problems and there's a certain process that the

wounds have to follow when they heal and a lot of these
patients will have the healing process stalled.

So our job is to make sure that they are able to
proceed through the different stages of wound healing

to be able to completely heal the wound.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is
basically pressurized 100% oxygen.

Your blood can only carry a certain amount of oxygen in
your red blood cells.

And so the hyperbarics is really beneficial because
doing that much oxygen under pressure under these very

controlled settings pushes extra oxygen into the plasma
of your bloodstream which helps carry additional

nutrients and oxygen to those wounds that so
desperately need it.

So that oxygen and the increased carrying capacity of
the blood helps decrease infection rates,

helps improve wound healing,
also helps increase the neovascularization which means

the development of new blood vessels
into those areas of wounds.

So it has a lot of
benefits to different kinds of patients.

It's super advantageous for us to have this with
Baptist Health Hardin right here in our community and

not have to have people drive so far to get the level
of care that we're able to offer here.
