Baptist Health Hardin celebrates opening of new facility with ribbon cutting
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (April 21, 2026) – Baptist Health Hardin celebrated the completion of its newest healthcare facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
The new facility, located in the southern part of Elizabethtown near Cecilia, will open early next month, with diagnostic imaging and lab, urgent care and occupational medicine services opening May 11 and primary care opening May 18.
The ribbon cutting was hosted in conjunction with Baptist Health Foundation Hardin’s semi-annual President’s Circle, a gathering that brings community leaders together to connect, engage, and learn how their contributions can enhance patient care.
The new facility is expected to address a population boom driven by ongoing economic development in the region. This construction follows the opening of Baptist Health Hardin’s Medical Pavilion in 2024.
“This project represents our continued commitment to meeting people where they are and ensuring access to high-quality care close to home,” said Robert Ramey, president of Baptist Health Hardin. “Patients will benefit from convenient, comprehensive care, while local businesses will have close access to occupational medicine services.
This unique facility brings multiple services together, helping patients get the care they need all in one convenient location. We are proud to share this milestone with our donors and community partners who help make growth like this possible.”
The first floor of the facility will house a 6,680-square-foot diagnostic center and a 4,200-square-foot urgent care, while the second floor will be home to Baptist Health Medical Group Primary Care.
The urgent care clinic will provide treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, as well as occupational medicine services. Occupational medicine will be available throughout the urgent care clinic’s hours, which extend beyond those of the existing location, providing greater flexibility for patients and employers to access care, including outside the traditional workday. It will be the fourth Baptist Health Urgent Care location in Hardin County and is expected to help ease demand on the hospital’s emergency department while offering a convenient option for walk-in care.
A new 12,000-square-foot space will house Baptist Health Medical Group Primary Care, which will relocate from its current location at 2411 Ring Road. Providers Jahin Patel, MD; Kasey Kindervater, APRN; Shaun Milby, APRN; and Chandra Payne, APRN, will continue caring for patients in the new space, joined by additional providers to support the area’s growing population.
“Our goal is to make care more convenient and connected for our patients,” said Sheila Smallwood, vice president of operations for Baptist Health Medical Group in central Kentucky. “By bringing urgent care, diagnostics and primary care together in one location, we’re creating a seamless experience that saves time and improves access.”
“This region continues to see strong residential and economic growth, and we’re responding by expanding services in a thoughtful, strategic way,” Ramey said. “We’re excited to open our doors and begin serving patients in this new facility.”
