Baptist Health La Grange and Baptist Health Louisville earn National Accredited Breast Center Program designation
LA GRANGE, Ky. (June 24, 2025) — Baptist Health La Grange and Baptist Health Louisville have successfully completed a joint accreditation survey with the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) through the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
There are only seven NAPBC accredited breast cancer programs in Kentucky. This is the first accreditation for the breast program at Baptist Health La Grange.
To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center demonstrates compliance with the NAPBC standards that address a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement for patients.
Lindsay Arnold, MD, a surgeon at Baptist Health La Grange and Baptist Health Louisville, leads the breast cancer program at Baptist Health La Grange.
“Earning the NAPBC designation shows Baptist Health’s commitment to the highest standards of care for patients with breast disease, including cancer,” Dr. Arnold said. “For our patients, it means they can trust they’re receiving treatment that meets rigorous national benchmarks, with a team that’s dedicated to quality, safety, and compassion at every step of their journey.”
As a NAPBC-accredited center, Baptist Health La Grange and Baptist Health Louisville are committed to maintaining levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered, multidisciplinary care resulting in high-quality care for patients with breast disease. Patients can be confident that their breast care team includes health care professionals from a variety of disciplines who are committed to working together to provide the best care available through their entire course of treatment. Patients receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center also have access to information on clinical trials, new treatment options, genetic counseling, and patient-centered services, including psychosocial support, rehabilitation services, and survivorship care.
Comprehensive diagnostic services in the breast program at Baptist Health La Grange includes screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds for abnormal findings on a mammogram, and biopsies. Patients can also be screened for high risk, to find out if they have an elevated lifetime risk of breast cancer and determine what protocols they need going forward. If a patient is diagnosed with breast cancer, Baptist Health La Grange offers specialized surgical services, to include breast reconstruction options, as well as oncology chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy treatments.
