ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (April 12, 2024) – Baptist Health Hardin held a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the grand re-opening of Baptist Health Diagnostic Center in Elizabethtown. The center, located at 2409 Ring Road, has undergone a full renovation and expansion, increasing its footprint from 8,000 to 10,000 square feet, adding new and more advanced diagnostic equipment, and renovating patient areas for greater comfort and increased privacy.

The facility sees an estimated more than 50,000 patients annually, a capacity which could be increased as much as ten percent with these upgrades. The expansion in space and equipment is expected to allow patients greater access to appointments, while keeping up with the area’s continued population growth.

“We are pleased to offer this beautiful new space, which is expected to provide a greater overall experience for our patients,” said Baptist Health Hardin President Robert Ramey. “The newly renovated Baptist Health Diagnostic Center will continue to be there for the community that has relied on us for many years for quality diagnostics, while allowing us to meet the increasing healthcare needs of the growing population of central Kentucky.”

The renovated space houses new diagnostic suites equipped with an additional new X-ray unit and an additional new CT unit. Another new feature is a newly replaced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit, which offers a larger opening for patient entry to increase patient comfort.

Other upgrades include newly renovated ultrasound and mammography suites, a larger waiting room with more pleasant seating, and enhanced privacy accommodations.

This expansion and renovation is the latest of several major diagnostic upgrades over the last few years including the addition of ION® robotic bronchoscopy at the hospital; the expansion of 3D mammography into all four diagnostic central Kentucky diagnostic center locations; and the addition of a full-time mobile CT/PET scan unit.

“We are delighted to bring these upgrades in technology and accessibility to our community,” said Bert Jones, director of Diagnostic Imaging for Baptist Health Hardin. “This new and improved diagnostic center will be a great benefit for our patients in terms of more convenient appointment scheduling, advancements in technology, and an overall enhanced patient experience.”

Baptist Health Diagnostic Imaging, formerly known as Elizabethtown Diagnostic Imaging, has operated at its Ring Road location since 2007 – first as a privately owned operation, then acquired in 2011 by Hardin Memorial Health (HMH). The center became Baptist Health Diagnostic Imaging when Baptist Health acquired HMH on Sept. 1, 2020.

Baptist Health Diagnostic Imaging offers comprehensive diagnostic services, including MRI, CT scan, 3D mammography, ultrasound, X-ray, and Dexa scans. All services, except X-ray, are performed by appointment. Most services require a physician’s order.

Baptist Health Diagnostic Imaging is located at 2409 Ring Road, Suite 114, in Elizabethtown. It is open Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. For more information, or an appointment, call 270.982.3344.
