Baptist Health Richmond celebrates Certified Nurses Day

The day honors 43 nurses who have 51 board certifications in their respective specialties.

RICHMOND, KY (March 17, 2023) – Baptist Health Richmond is celebrating Certified Nurses Day on Sunday, March 19 by honoring 43 nurses who have 51 board certifications in their respective specialties.

Nurses who have achieved board certification receive additional training and education for specific health care specialties. As health care becomes increasingly more complex, board certified nurses play an increasingly important role in the assurance of high standards of care for patients and their loved ones.

The knowledge of modern nursing requires extensive education as well as strong personal commitment to excellence by the nurse.

“We encourage and support our nurses in attaining national board certification by promoting staff advancement and growth through certification reimbursement, so they are better positioned to provide the very best quality of care for our patients,” said Dr. Mendy Blair, vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health Richmond. “We celebrate our 43 certified nurses for the experience and expertise they bring to our hospital.”
