(PADUCAH, KY) August 31 - Baptist Health Paducah has been recognized by the Eon’s Center of Excellence (ECOE) as a Gold Tier for Program Integration for its exceptional patient management of incidental pulmonary nodules. This recognition highlights the hospital’s commitment to improving patient outcomes through early diagnosis of lung cancer.

The Gold tier is the highest recognition a facility can earn from the ECOE and is only awarded to a select-few programs that not only achieve exceptional patient return rates, but also exhibit meticulous efforts to ensure patients are returning for the follow-up care they need. Gold programs ensure all patients have next steps of care, persistent communication about exam results and clear execution of the necessary steps that positively impact patient adherence rates.

“Earning Gold level status showcases the efforts that exist behind the scene. Our team goes above and beyond in all aspects of managing patients with incidental pulmonary nodules and ensuring they receive the right care, at the right time,” said Baptist Health Paducah Director of Oncology and Imaging Services Mike Tutor. “To qualify for the Gold level means that at least 97% of our patients are following through with recommendations from their provider. That is outstanding.”

In 2022, Baptist Health Paducah was awarded the ECOE’s Silver Tier for Follow-Up Adherence. This improvement to the Gold Tier for Program Integration, exemplifies the hospital’s commitment to continuous growth and better serving its community.

The ECOE standards of care are in adherence of clinically-based guidelines for follow-up surveillance. Facilities recognized by the ECOE must achieve better patient outcomes, standardized best practices, top-of-mind awareness, increased patient satisfaction, positive work-of-mouth and a competitive advantage.
