Baptist Health Hardin opens third urgent care clinic
New location provides convenient care for local, area residents
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Nov. 17, 2020) – Today, Baptist Health Hardin opened its third Urgent Care clinic in Hardin County to increase access to treatment for minor illnesses or injuries for people of all ages. The facility, conveniently located off I-65 (exit 94), allows patients in Hardin and the surrounding counties to access care close to home.
The new Baptist Health Urgent Care clinic is located at 1009 North Mulberry Street (at the intersection of Ring Road and Highway 62) in Elizabethtown. Previously the home of Chase Bank, the space underwent a nearly $600,000 update to install equipment, furniture, fixtures and IT infrastructure.
“Our new location is well-suited to serve communities south of Elizabethtown as well as Elizabethtown visitors who travel to the region for business and tourism,” said Deanna Parker, Assistant Vice President of Emergency Services at Baptist Health Hardin. “Baptist Health Hardin is working hard to meet the growing demand for urgent and emergency care, especially for those in surrounding communities.”
Urgent Care clinics are a great option for those seeking treatment for minor illnesses or injuries. Nearly one-third of patients treated each year in the Baptist Health Hardin Emergency Department could be effectively treated at an urgent care clinic which is a more convenient and cost-effective option.
“So often, our patients are surprised that we can care for more than a sniffle or sneeze,” said Paula Roy, MD, Baptist Health Urgent Care. “On the contrary, at Baptist Health Urgent Care clinics, we are able to treat a wide range of minor medical issues including lacerations and wounds, skin and eye infections, allergic conditions and cold and flu symptoms.”
Baptist Health Urgent Care clinics also offer physician-ordered X-rays and a wide range of diagnostic testing and screening.
“In the event of an emergency like shortness of breath, severe stomach pain, chest discomfort, head injury or trauma, patients should go to the Baptist Health Hardin Emergency Department,” Dr. Roy said. “But we want our community to understand that they have access to convenient care at the Baptist Health Urgent Care clinics.”
Baptist Health Urgent Care on Mulberry Street is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sundays from 2p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The other urgent care clinics are located in Elizabethtown (1111 Ring Road) and Radcliff (1360 Rogersville Road).
Baptist Health Urgent Care clinics in the Hardin County area also offer mobile check-in to allow for social distancing while waiting to be seen. Patients are encouraged to download the free “My Mobile Check In” app on their mobile device via the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app provides touch-free check in within 400 feet of the location upon your arrival until it’s time to be seen by an Urgent Care provider.
