(Corbin, Ky.) October 25, 2019 Baptist Health Corbin has announced the addition of a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit to their imaging suite. This state-of-the-art technology has the capability of performing prostrate and advanced breast scanning which allows cancers to be detected and treated earlier. MRI uses a large magnet and radio waves to look at organs and structures inside the body to diagnose a variety of conditions. By having the MRI unit located at the hospital, there are several options that can be offered for the comfort of the patient or if the patient suffers from claustrophobia.

Physicians at Baptist Health Corbin can now offer some of the most advanced imaging services available today. The MRI offers excellent image quality, superb diagnostic capabilities, and the exceptional patient benefits of shorter scans with no radiation.

“We are very excited to bring the MRI unit on site at Baptist Health Corbin,” said Mark Steely, VP of Operations at Baptist Health Corbin. “Not only can we provide state-of-the-art technology, we can also provide a more comfortable environment for our patients.”
