Hardin Memorial Health, Baptist Health Provide Sale Update

February 01, 2019

– Because of legal action taken by Dr. Larry Hall, we did not close the sale to Baptist Health in December

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY – Because of legal action taken by Dr. Larry Hall, we did not close the sale to Baptist Health in December and will now delay the closing scheduled for February 1. We continue to prepare for the transition to become a Baptist Health hospital while the lawsuit is pending. We want to be ready to close the sale and join Baptist Health as soon as the lawsuit is concluded.

In a well-reasoned opinion on October 4, 2018, Hardin Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mark Easton determined that there was no violation of state statutes in the process used for the sale of Hardin Memorial Health to Baptist Health. It is unfortunate that Dr. Hall’s appeal of Judge Easton’s decision is delaying much-needed investment by Baptist Health for healthcare services in Hardin County. Baptist Health has successfully managed the hospital for many years and has supported the hospital in its mission of providing high quality health care services to the residents of Hardin County.
