Baptist Health Paducah is now offering self-pay vascular screenings

Baptist Health Paducah is now offering self-pay vascular screenings. The screenings are not covered by insurance and do not require a doctor’s order, however patients do need to have a primary care provider.

The program offers non-invasive ultrasound screenings in the Carson-Myre Heart Center to check:

  • Carotid arteries for blockage in the neck

  • Abdominal aorta for aneurysm

  • Peripheral arteries in the arms and legs for blockage

Vascular disease is any abnormal condition of the blood vessels (arteries and veins). With the increase in obesity and diabetes in Americans and as the population ages, vascular diseases are becoming epidemic and can cause disability and even death.

Risk factors include:

  • Diabetes

  • High blood pressure

  • Heart disease

  • Stroke

  • High cholesterol

  • Smoking history

  • Family history of cardiovascular disease

  • Age

The cost is $30 for each test or $75 for all three. To schedule an appointment, phone 270.575.2662, option 2.
