16 area college students selected for Baptist Health Pre-Med Academy

Sixteen students from eight colleges have been selected for the Baptist Health Paducah Pre-Med Academy summer program.

Sixteen students from eight colleges have been selected for the Baptist Health Paducah Pre-Med Academy summer program.

The academy is designed to assist college students in their medical career development and to foster relationships with future physicians.  

Students are Matthew Atwill, Elliott Bickerstaff, Samantha Clymer, Cyra Coscarelli, Jacob Friedrich, Skylar Hargrove, Cody Hayden, Derek Lawrence, Jarrett Mauk, Emily Meredith, Faith Oliver, Cinthya Ramos, Sarah Thompson, Rana Turkmani, Tanner Smith and Madeline Wooten.

They represent Murray State University, West Kentucky Community & Technical College, Western Kentucky University, Centre College, University of Kentucky, Memphis University, Freed-Hardeman University and Harding University. 

Participation will help students network for future job opportunities and provide valuable experience for applications to graduate programs, he added.  The internship will average 24 hours a week for eight weeks.
