David J. Zoeller, MD, is an Addiction Medicine physician with more than 30 years of practice in Elizabethtown. He provides care in English and has a special focus on addiction medicine, chronic pain, and behavioral health. He brings a unique perspective to patient care, combining analytical precision with a compassionate, whole-person approach to complex conditions. Before entering medicine, he worked as a chemical engineer at IBM, an experience that shaped his systems-based approach to healthcare. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine then completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.  He has been board certified in Family Medicine since 1989 and in Addiction Medicine since 2001.  He is dedicated to developing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and recovery goals. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Zoeller is committed to advancing medical education and the study of addiction. He serves as an associate professor at the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, and Vanderbilt University.
