The healthcare community defines obesity as excessive fat accumulation that possesses risk to their health. We use body mass index or BMI of thirty or more. Although it's not perfect, it's the one that we commonly use. However, there are differences in ethnicity and also gender.

People would ask what is the best time to go to a doctor. My answer is we actually need to be proactive before it even happens. That's the first step of maintaining your health and maintaining healthy weight. The approaches that I recommend for weight loss, the most common one is calorie restriction.

So that just means decreasing the amount of calories you eat. That will be around five hundred to seven fifty calories cut in a day. That will be realistic and that wouldn't put your body in distress. So for some people I say, I'm not going to restrict you about what you cannot eat, it's about what you should be eating.

Because when you're imposing restrictions, it sounds bad and it puts you under stress. So it's more about you're actually going to try to eat more fruits and vegetables on your plate. If we tackle the obesity at the root, this person might never develop diabetes or heart disease or high blood pressure or sleep apnea. In my mind, it's at least ten years of good quality of life that you get.

Take care of yourself.
