ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. (Oct. 24, 2025) – Baptist Health Foundation Hardin leaders announced a generous $125,000 gift from The Cecilian Bank to establish a new Community Health and Wellness Fund. This fund will enable the Foundation to help Baptist Health Hardin expand care in communities and schools across central Kentucky.

The new fund will help Baptist Health Hardin’s long-standing Community Health and Wellness team address the most urgent needs identified in the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)— including smoking, vaping and lung cancer; mental health and substance abuse; and access to healthcare—while strengthening partnerships with local schools, Feeding America, and other community organizations.

The fund will also allow the team to enhance services through its Wellness on Wheels (WOW) mobile health unit, which helps deliver essential health resources and support directly to people in need.

“The Cecilian Bank has a long-standing history of investing in our community, and their generosity will have a catalytic impact,” said Baptist Health Foundation Hardin Board Chair Mike Bowers. “This gift directly supports Baptist Health Hardin’s mission to reach the most vulnerable members of our community, and it will no doubt encourage others to give.”

“The Cecilian Bank is proud to collaborate with Baptist Health Foundation Hardin and support programs that improve the well-being of families throughout central Kentucky,” said Greg Pawley, president and CEO of The Cecilian Bank. “We’re particularly excited about helping launch Mental Health First Aid, a nationally acclaimed program in schools."

Thanks to this gift, Baptist Health Hardin can also expand services and programs that provide essential support to community members in need, including purchasing additional prescription protein boxes from Feeding America for patients experiencing food insecurity and much more.

“Every day, our Community Health and Wellness team meets people where they are—literally and figuratively,” said Baptist Health Hardin President Robert Ramey. “This generous gift from The Cecilian Bank allows us to make even faster progress on our CHNA implementation plan.”

“The Cecilian Bank’s generosity reinforces what community partnership truly means,” said Tracee Troutt, vice president and chief development officer of Baptist Health Foundation Hardin. “Together, with our community partners, our hospital and philanthropic foundation create programs that can make a real difference in the lives of families across central Kentucky.”
