Baptist Health Foundation Hardin announces $100,000 WesBanco Bank grant for medical pavilion valet services

Elizabethtown, Ky., (Oct. 17, 2023) – Today, Baptist Health Foundation Hardin leadership announced that WesBanco Bank, the banking subsidiary of WesBanco, Inc., will provide a $100,000 grant to support valet services in the new Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion, which is currently under construction behind the hospital.
“Extremely generous organizations and people exist all across Baptist Health Hardin’s 10-county service area, and WesBanco Bank and its leaders rank among the top on that list,” said Baptist Health Foundation Hardin Board Chair Mike Bowers. “This grant will directly benefit hundreds of thousands of patients and their families expected to arrive at our new medical pavilion annually. Valet services are not only an added convenience, but will really help patients with mobility issues.”
WesBanco, a diversified, multi-state bank with a substantial presence in Kentucky, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to enriching the communities it serves. For over 150 years, the financial services institution has helped drive growth for individuals, businesses and communities through innovative financial solutions and community investment. Notably, in 2015, WesBanco was the first corporate donor for the newly formed Baptist Health Foundation Hardin through a $50,000 grant to establish a pediatric therapy playground.

Valet parking is expected to be beneficial to patients with mobility concerns or other health issues that make walking long distances difficult, as well as patients who are travelling alone. Patients visiting the pavilion for cancer treatments, cardiac care, orthopedic care, pulmonary care, and treatment for other chronic conditions may find that the new service is convenient for getting to and from their appointments and may also reduce or anxiety about travelling long distances on foot.
Valet parking is just one of many amenities to be offered at the new 282,000-square-foot Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion, expected to open in 2024. The largest project in the hospital’s history, the facility will house a new comprehensive cancer center with all patient services together for the first time; 12 new surgical suites, including a hybrid operating room; three additional cardiac catheterization labs; medical offices to accommodate new physicians and specialists; and patient-centric spaces designed to promote emotional and spiritual wellness.
In addition to the new cafe, other amenities for patients and staff at the pavilion will include a community wellness trail, resource area, chapel, outdoor healing garden, staff respite rooms, training and conference spaces, and common areas filled with natural light and beauty.
