Baptist Health Wound Care is one of only 16 centers nationwide to receive the President’s Circle Center of Distinction award from Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services.

Open since March 2016, Baptist Health Wound Care achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 635 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 16 achieved this specific honor.

“Wound care has been a value-added service line to our hospital and our community,” said Chris Roty, Baptist Health Paducah president. “We are so pleased with the level of commitment provided by this department and with the services it provides to our patients.  As one of only 16 wound care centers in the entire county to earn the President’s Circle Center of Distinction, I am very proud of the dedication to quality care Baptist Health Wound Care provides.”

Baptist Health Wound Care is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers® and provides proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. The center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and advanced wound dressings.  Baptist Health Wound Care does not require a referral from a physician and strives to offer all new patients an appointment within 24 to 48 hours of their phone call.

Baptist Health Wound Care program director Jamie Ehling said patient satisfaction scores and new patient growth were two of the metrics important to helping the center achieve its President’s Circle honors.

“I am fortunate to lead an incredible staff with a group of strong clinicians who have the ability and willingness to relate to our patients and provide them with both great experiences and clinical excellence,” Ehling said.
